Good Morning, Friends...
Here's one we don't see every day - A 1921-dated EK1 Award Document signed by the -Then- Hauptmann Walter von Reichenau of the General Staff...He had been Company Commander of the 8th MG Company, 18th Infanterie Regiment in Muenster...
For those unaware, Walter von Reichenau would later become Generalfeldmarschall and Commander of the 6th Army...After an exercise-run in 10 degree Cold Weather, he collapsed and never regained consciousness...On January 17th, 1942, the aircraft evacuating him crashed and he sustained a further, fatal head injury...A Highly Capable Commander, he was also known as an ardent admirer of Hitler and a supporter of the Brutal Policies in the East...After his death, Generaloberst Paulus took over 6th Army Command...
This Certificate looks like a Keeper...
cheers, Glenn

We are the Pilgrims , master, we shall go
Always a little further : it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow
Across that angry or that glimmering sea...
