The bars each signify Infantry/Fusilier Regiments of Schleswig-Holstein, Magdeburg, and Hessen...But I am not familiar with these at all...
cheers, Glenn
These bars are for a postwar vanity piece that consisted of this ribbon, mounted on a piece of cardboard, with the regimental bar and a clip on the back from which hung cross with a patriotic motif. It normally only had only one bar, but occasionally you will see two or more, as it was not uncommon for wounded soldiers to be reassigned to new units when they were healthy enough to be returned to the field. These three units, however, have no obvious connection, so this particular piece may have been a display item or just a put-together.
