Default Wound Badge in Gold WWI- fake?

Picked this up with a bunch of tinnies today. Dealer gave it to me no cost. He had little knowledge of WWI and was told that it was a Polish fake.

    It is 4 cm tall

Any thoughts? I didn't think they make hollow back gold versions and the pin/catch looks bad to me.

That said, no harm as it was free....

Any and all comments are welcome

    Michael

    Harry,

Sweet!!! Must admit WWI is not an area I'm particularily good at yet. But it is an area I'm getting more interested in....

What traits do you see on this one for it being legit?

Just a little bump. Wondering if anyone else has opinions.

I don't have that warm and fuzzy feeling yet.

    Thanks

    Hello Michael,
I am sorry, I don't get a "warm and fuzzy" either.
For a gold award I would expect more, (better) detail in the bow area at the bottom as well as the sword handles. I also don't like the hardware.
I don't believe this one is an original.

    Thanks Harry/Ralph,

An open discussion on this.... (No loss eitherway on my side since it was free...but I would obviously like good news )

Harry: Anything more specific. Would be a learning experience for me.

    Regards,

    Michael
