    Question WW1 Ek2 ??

I've had this WW1 iron Cross 2nd class kicking about in a "junk" box for a few years now, .. and to tell you the truth I have not really looked at it much. (Hence the dust and muck on the medal)

    The question is ....
    Is this a geniune WW1 EK2, .. or just a copy ??
I have know idea about the item, as I do not really collect German !

    Cheers

    Hi,
it looks good, but it can be difficult to tell, as copies can look good in photos, can you give size, is it of 3 piece construction, is the core magnetic or none magnetic, are there any markings on the suspension ring or top of frame ?, can you post side on photo to show frame joints.

WolfMan73, can you give reason as to your deliberation ?

The only thing that concerns me, is the tips of the cross are rounded, they are usually sharp. If you have a Third Reich piece, compare the sizes, the dimensions of all WW1 2nd class cross's are smaller.

Ok .. I have checked a few of the questions ..

    1) Yes the core is magnetic.
    2) Yes it is a 3 piece construction.
(The marks on the loop are too small to get a good description of )

Size ..... 43mm outer edge to outer edge ..

    Cheers

I agree; it looks good to me as well. There also appears to be a "square" maker's stamp on the ring.
