Default WW1 EKII Württemberg medal and ribbon bar

My newly acquired WWI medal bar with ribbon bar - EKII / Württemberg - Silberne Militärverdienstmedaille / Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer 1914-1918:

I have a rookie question about ribbon bars in general:

Are not these two below ribbon bars just of two different styles? Or does the difference of the mounting of the ribbons between them signify something else (like the one being more formal than the other)?

All input and help is as always much appreciated!

They are just two different mounting styles. The more complicated "double-draped" mounting style was preferred in Bavaria and the southern states (such as Württemberg).

Very nice bars, by the way!

Thank you Andreas, for shedding light on this for me and for the additional information about these being preferred in the southern states of Germany - I was not aware of that

I'm glad you like the bars

Thanks for showing, Andreas. Beautiful bars - I especially like the one with the ribbon for the Tiroler Landesdenkmünze
