Article about: Hello i recently got a very old rust what i think is jaegar helmet off a chap whose uncle brought it back from ww1 when i can work out how to put a pic up i will it says on the rim in small

    Hello i recently got a very old rust what i think is jaegar helmet off a chap whose uncle brought it back from ww1 when i can work out how to put a pic up i will it says on the rim in small writing 2 J R P 10 then a bit further on it says 57 im pretty sure it is JRP could some one be kind enough to tell me what it stands for

    thank you for taking the time to reply
    as i said its very rusty i guess the 10 stands for 1910 would their be a manufacturers mark ant where ive looked at pics on the web and often they are on a circle of metal around the base of the spike but nothing their

    The number "10" is probably the inventory number for the helmet. If there is a maker's mark it should be on the inside of the dome of the helmet at the top near the vent hole.

    10 would typically be the regiment number, not inventory.

    Wrong. The regiment number always precedes the unit designator. In this case J.P.
