WW1 trench shovel (?)

Hi Guys -

Can you confirm that this is a WW1 German shovel? Looks like a 1916 variant from some online pics I've found.

I believe it was found here in Hungary used by German forces in the winter of 1944-45, hence the 'winter camo' which actually looks convincing to me. I will try to find out more about its origins (and make better photos, these are seller's pics).
