Adravor sadly not so romantic in Napoleonic terms. This is part of a 4 piece body armour set as used by German snipers, sentries and machine gunners. There were I think 3 variations and often used with the helmet brow plate. I will post imagery in the MG08/15 thread/post later on this piece of equipment.

I have to disagree, i dont think its a german sniper armor, the shape is wrong.
German Sniper Armor:
The Amor i think it could be, a french curassiers cuirass.
I am pretty certain that its an cuirass, as it has the buttons on which the straps that held it together where fixed on.

Interesting. On closer inspection I think you could be right!!!!
This makes the picture def. more interesting, as its an clue to the fact that Cavallery/Cuirassiers where still in use by early 1915.
Is that your picture, and if yes, can you read the name that´s written on the cuirass?
