Is this a WWI Unit marking? WWI Relic Carl Zeiss Dienstglas

These are quite the post battle battlefield pickup, truly relics...

Just wondering is this is a unit marking, and if so, what is it? It reads JR 11 / 36 with a 1 on the other side. They are 1918 dated, Carl Zeiss Jena Diensglas.

I believe the JR might stand for Jager Regiment.

'J.R.' is an early German way of abbreviating 'Infantry Regiment'.

Indeed, I got this wrong once, and thought like James it was for Jager, but Mo is correct, it is for Infantry.

an interesting set and certainly been there, very nice IMHO.

I believe it stands for the 11th Komp. of Infanterie Regiment Nr. 36.

Thx Fellas ;-) Yes, it certainly is an interesting set... My first impression was "these are in horrible shape", but then I realized this is truly a relic item, was probably laying somewhere for a while til found, and also the damage to the one eyecup. Who knows what might have happened?
