Here's an interesting Imperial Russian issue shashka with a 34 (870mm) military blade dated 1904 with circular Zlatoust and eagle maker stamp on one side of the ricasso, the other marked with crowned A and A stamps, 42 as well as weapon number 984 and what I presume is the unit designation in Cyrillic 15 Dr P for the 15th Peryeyaslavskii Emperor Alexander III Dragoon Regiment. Traditional Cossack style, double riveted wooden grip and a simple, flat oval guard. Wooden scabbard with brass fittings, double ring bands (upper with matching weapon number
984 and throat piece with A stamp. Overall length 40

A friend picked this up from a USAAF veteran's estate collection of German and other swords, bayonets, and a dagger.
