Default Imperial Russian Naval Hat & case

Anyone know where to find info on the details of this hat?
It's in good shape, with the case a little worn and raggad.
    Imperial eagle on the button.
"H. Wauthier & Co. St. Petersbourg" appears to be the maker (from inside the hat)
and the person for whom it was made had the initials "E.W" (as well as a very small head! the hat is tiny!)
My Dad had this for a long time (not a family piece) and whatever details he was told at purchase are long gone!
Having difficulty locating details on such things on the web - perhaps too esoteric a subject?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Greg

It's a Bicorne (cocked) hat, worn from the late 1700's till the end of World War 1. It was worn as part of the full dress uniform for officers of most navies. It was worn occasionally till World War 2 and is now rarely worn. A nice example!

Any idea what such a hat is worth? or where I could find out? I don't even know where to begin to look...

I've seen a Japanese one as a complete set for sale for $1,200. I'm no expert, but I'd say $800 at least.
