I recently saw this on a website for sale. The item is "claimed" to be a Tsarist Officers overcoat, but it looks like a post GPW Soviet overcoat, that has had buttons, and pogorni put on it to make it appear Tsarist.

What are your opinions?

I must admit, to my untrained eye, that is what I think it looks like too.

I confess, I am no expert on Tsarist gear, but IIRC, all the pictures I have seen of Tsarist field overcoats, had a different cuff, and were cut a little different.

I could be wrong, and maybe for re-enacting this is good enough, but I don't think it is an original.
