    Hello!
    I can not answer for sure, since there are no documents explaining this. I think the RIA glass canteens were no longer produced after the October Revolution in 1917 (but this is only my opinion). WWI and WWII glass canteens are well distinguished primarily by the shape of the neck, and also by the shape of the body.

    Thanks for this comprehensive thread. It's very informative.

    Here is my wooden example. Unfortunately, the stopper is missing, but it does have a nice unit designation painted on it. The name of a German that captured it is written in purple pencil on the bottom.
