Can anyone identify the unform, military unit,rank and decorations?. The photograph is of my Russian G.Grandfather pre-revolution.

First photo shows a genaral, listed in Cavalry. Not one particular regiment, but rather something like staff of cavalry division... Not sure in details, need to check references. Photo could be dated by the period of 1907-1914.

Second photo shows young lieutenant of the Life Guards Preobrazhensky regiment. The photo is dated 1908-1914
