    Default Russo-Japanese War Shoulder board?

    Hi all,
Just after some assistance with this interesting Imperial Russian pogony.

From the little research I was able to do I have surmised that it may have belonged to someone from a rifle regiment and that at one time they were a sergeant. I have no clue as to the unit. The letters are, I believe "квс".

Thanks in advance for your help.

You are correct on the rank and branch of service.

I think you will find the letters read "KVS".

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks Adrian.

You don't happen to know what unit the letters correspond to? Most of the others I have seen have numerals denoting the regiment it belonged to, but this one does not seem to have that. Maybe some type of support or mounted unit?

No idea, sorry! Imperial Russian is not really my thing.

    Cheers, Ade.

What you are looking at is actually "14.B.-C.", which is the 14th East Siberian Rifle Regiment. It was part of the 4.Siberian Rifle Division, with it's peacetime garrison in Strjetensk (German spelling).
