Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Hello Paul,
The catch on this one might indicate a post war Souval and the space between the swastika and the rifle seems to be too large to me.
Best to wait for fischer or Janos on this one.
Ralph.

the catch is hard to see but it looks like a postwar souval.
Hello Paul
This one is a very worn, wartime original and used to be referred to as the "Slim Stalk" variant...now it is attributed to the firm of Juncker. The wide gap between the k98 and the swazy was the reason for the nickname.
The reverse shot does give the illusion of the classic post war Souval so-called "claw catch" but I believe it is just the pics. The catch on these have a large circular catch plate with a "C" style catch soldered to it. The hinge is a sheet metal type with the formed base having angled corners. The hinge on this one has been repaired at some point.
Here is one of mine to compare.
Best Regards, fischer
Many thanks Fischer !!
