A bad one IMO the pin looks to fat and the catch looks odd.

    No chance.

Everything is wrong with this one.

Thanks for that - there was a second one that I passed on because it looked like a post war Souval catch ..... but the pin is thinner.
I thought this first one was OK .... so maybe BOTH are bad?

    ( I better stick to helmets )

Both are bad, the second is indeed a post war Souval.

IMO the second is bad also the catch looks to be post war and also the lack of detail on the eagle's head.

    Hello

I can only agree with the guys...the first one is a fake based on the FCL design and labeled Juncker. It has been around for years but every now and then it pops up.

The second is considered a Post War Souval. The so-called "Souval Claw Catch" is found on many of their post war products. Thank goodness for that as these could have easily been considered wartime products. Both Souval and S&L were active post 1945 and continued to make Infanterie Sturmabzeichen's, presumably for the souvenir hungry GI's.

Later on, Souval continued making these solids with the Swazy cut away for the veterans (again presumably) to wear...before the release of the official 57er awards.

These are referred to by many as Souval fakes, but for me I consider them Post War Examples and are collectible in their own right.
The first example you posted is what I consider a true fake.

    Best Regards, fischer
