Hi Ralph

A very nice attributed Wiedmann with sheet metal catch and round catch plate.

There are multiple obverse dies that have slight variation in the wreath vein patterns. If you look at the 4R leaf outline just above the bow, you can see differences in the outline when compared to the "lily pad" hinge or the "wide pin" Wiedmanns.

In my studies of the Wiedmann variants (both marked and unmarked) I place this one "early on" in the production run of the solid examples.
I base this opinion on the thickness of the badge itself, quality of the finish and the obverse details match the earlier hollow NS Wiedmann obverse.
