    Hi,

    I have tried to identify this IAB, and it seems to be from an unknown maker referred as 1.49.1 in the book "Das Infanterie Sturmabzeichen" by Sacha Weber.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks
    /Jonas

    Thanks Stewy for the info.

    Does this "SHuCo design" mean that the badge is not proven that is was MADE BY SHuCo or maybe was MADE FOR SHuCo by some other maker?

    So in that case these are always unmarked?

    This 4 vein I guess is related to that the wreath only has 4 veins instead of normal 5?

    Hello Jonas

    That is correct...the obverse design is very similar to the maker marked S.H.u.Co. ISA's but there are slight variations in the leaf vein patterns between the two.
    This shows us that different dies were in use and raises several questions;

    1. Was an unknown firm the manufacturer
    2. Was S.H.u.Co. the maker and sold directly
    3. Did S.H.u.Co. produce these for another company

    The (4) vein description is the amount of veins/stems in the 1R wreath leaf position.

    Best Regards, fischer
