Personally i'd just vaseline it. That way it's as it should be,only protected somewhat. Stewy

What i've done is heat up the vaseline in a teaspoon on the stove then quickly brush it on while it's still liquid. That way you get a nice thin coverage into all the crevices without the mess of trying to get great gobs of dust attracting jelly out of those crevices if you'd just wiped it on fresh out of the jar.
