    Default Unmarked Infanterie Sturmabzeichen

Had this one for a while. Been reading through the old posts but still can't identify.

Does anyone recognize this type and the maker. Or is it a bad one.

Has some wear to it especially around the Eagle beak.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Thanks.

If you care to indulge me and help the uninformed, what do we mean by "Vienna" design?

Vienna design is attributed to a conglomerate of makers from that area. There are about five or six I believe, Fischer will be along soon & he can explain better than me. Stewy

    Hi Michael

I agree with the others, this one is an attributed JB&Co. example.
It is presumed the initials stand for "Josef Bergs & Co. - Gablonz an der NeiŖe" but documentation has yet to be uncovered.

This example is a typical "Gablonz Family" IAB with the familiar Ball Hinge and crimped in catch set up.

Myself, I believe Josef Bergs is most likely the maker due to the ground dug examples of this design found in the vicinity of the Bergs & Co. factory.

    Best Regards, fischer
