48 star US flag USMC Marked

I just traded for this the other day. I was particularly drawn to this item because it was an American flag that was linked to the military and from what I have been told, not nearly as common. I have searched around the internet for other USMC marked flags and have not come up with anything, so any extra info on this flag like its rarity, use, and age. There are markings on the flag with CONT. NO. 38564, would I be able to find the age through this?

The rest of the markings read: U.S.M.C. Valley Forge Flag Co.

5 x 9 1/2ft. FLAG, STORM

It is in alright shape. Some moth holes, the worst underneath the stars that I have taken a picture of. There is some more here and there, but it still displays well! I apologize if the pictures are tough to see, I had a tough time finding room for it with enough lighting. I will take some out in the sunlight tomorrow if it is needed.

Does anyone have a way of telling the age or approximate year it was made?

cant give an approx age but from the construction its got a good chance of being 1940's.
