I have just found a stamp on the "Q" armband which states:
    N. GIRMA JEE RAO & SONS TAILOR & CLOTH MERCHANTS BANGALORE

Hi Malcolm, the first one (Red/black/red) is for British Officers with Command HQ (Home). Now the letter I think is a "C"? If so, it is for Assistant Chaplain General. But if it is a "G" then it is for the General Staff branch.

The Q armband I have not seen before and a quick look in my reference book sheds no light on this one.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hello Ade,

Thank you for the reply. The letter on the first armband has a "tail" that is deliberately sewn and not loose threads hanging. However, I agree that it appears to be more like a "C" than a "G".

    Kind regards, Malcolm.
