Default British 78th division Royal Irish Fusiliers cloth insignia

just purchased this interesting set, sellers description : These particular combinations were made for a military exhibition in the 1960s. The badges sewn onto original Khaki backing are original World War Two insignia. I have several 78th div formation badges and the battleaxe looks good, from my research 78th div never used cloth shoulder titles, your thoughts much appreciated,
    regards, John.

Reverse diagonal weave on the battleaxe looks post war, if not a copy.

on these the weave runs from top left to bottom right, on the first set they run from top right to bottom left, which is usually only seen on post war or copy insignia in my experience, though I do not claim to have seen every variant and certainly for some para pegasus patches there is some debate on their date as some have this feature.

Thanks Jerry, done a larger scan of the patch and your right the weave looks wrong, more than likely a copy, the only post war one i have is this example, on a silk kind of material, is this known as bevo weave ?.
    cheers, John.
