Hi Guys, here are a pair of book ends from my collection. I picked these up at a general antiques fair some years ago now. I was very lucky to get them. It was the near the end of the show when I discovered them. I had already had a good day at the show and was almost broke. The lady selling them wanted £28 for them. All I had left was £18! I sweet talked her into selling me them for all I had left, after turning out my pockets and wallet to her to prove it was all I had left.

I don't think these are a commercial made item but are most likely a one off, "trench art" peice, possible made for an Officer? The backing to the underside is made from army issue blanket material.

They stand on my fireplace and hold up a few of my books about Arnhem, which I think is an appropriate use for them. Plus they fit in well with our art deco decoration.

    Cheers, Ade.
