    Default British Cape of Insignia?

So I got this cape from this old British lady who my grandmother was taking care of. Her after was in the RAF, and she married a US soldier. I am guessing this is her father's cape, it's covered in all kinds of insignia. I am hoping someone can shed some like onto what this elderly lady had given to me.

I think you will find it is a Nurse's cape.

This was a very popular practise.

    Great item!

Looking at some of the badges this one will date from the early 1950's.

    Cheers, Ade.

Very nice to get a Nurses cape as a gift with all the badges, some might be late forties and on into the fifties.

    I would estimate a value for 200 to 300.

Dealers often buy them and then strip them out....

    Cheers, Ade.

    A similar item here:

ATS group with insignia sewn to scarf.

It was very popular for female servicewomen to collect badges and sew them to jackets, capes, scarves, etc.
