I thought these were the early plain wreath pre february 1940 ones before the crown coronet ones?

I don't know. But the pattern of the wreath is certainly very similar to the cap badge.
If it is early ATS we are looking at a very narrow time frame of just 6 months and that is the problem.

The person who sold it to me on ebay years ago say it is ATS officer that predated the coronet. If it is only 6 months that is rare indeed.

Just found this. One of them looks like mine.
I think the description suppose to mean a Chief Commandant is equivelent to a Major General. Correction I meant Lt Colonel
