Hi Guys, we fond of these and Lez and I have several different ones adorning our walls.

This one shows the cap badge of the South Staffordshire Regiment. They are a local Regt. It comes in it's original wartime frame, which is of a typical thin black frame which seems to have been a popular type.

These were made usually with the soldier working from a commercially available pattern. They would have been done in a soldiers spare time in baracks and made for gifts to their famillies etc.

    Cheers, Ade.

Here we have one from the Border Regt.

Like the South Staffs, they fought at Arnhem too

This one is interesting as the frame backing is made from a 24 hour ration box.

ATS embroidery. The frame to this one is backed with wartime newspaper.
