German Banner Flag. Huge

Here is a Banner or Rally flag as i was told. Is that correct? Interesting story behind it. I have no reasons to believe its fake, but you never know. Was personally told this came down off the rafters in an auditorium in Bavaria. For scale, i laid it across a California King mattress. It's been taken care of and stored in a safe, dry place.

All opinions and questions are highly welcomed. The grade of the flag would be nice to know (if considered real). I'd like to know your thoughts. And the price too. Let the pictures flow:

It is a Reichs Kreigs Flag (Kriegsmarine) Battle flag, it is nicely marked and I also believe it to be genuine. I do not believe the story. I am sure that somebody will come along later and tell you what type of ship it came from. As to the price I have seen them similar sell between $500-600.

I concur, nice flag and nice markings, obviously post 1938 made, or most likely made in 1938 with the Reichenberg Sudetenland markings

Thank you, I can only go by what this old friend said. he wanted me to have them (relics), and he may have gotten confused on this particular flag?!? he's only like 93 years old now (somewhere in there). I could see how he may get a bit confused LOL.

He served in Europe with the 45th Inf Division. He was there at Dachau when liberated. (Never told me hardly anything about that). Currently a museum is authenticating a Ink Stamp from Dachau, couple other sad artifacts, in which it needs to be in a museum (Loan). I can understand all the scrutiny involved to make sure relics are real! So i can only give my old friend the benefit of the doubt and believe his story. I suppose a KreigsMarine Flag could end up there? Anything is possible.

Perhaps it was something he just traded with another solider? It wouldn't had been uncommon.
