A recent buy, what I believe to be an OSD badge for the Glamorgan Yeomanry dating to the period from 1908 to 1937.
It is the same design as the OR's badge for the Monmouths though that was only ever in w/m or g/m and this is in bronzed metal. The officers of the 2nd and 3rd Mons had their own design badge whilst he officers of the 1st Mons wore a small silver dragon on a green boss.

It has obviously been converted into brooch fitting, either because it broke or as a sweetheart badge perhaps, either way a lovely badge with stunning detail.
Sadly it is not maker named and does not match exactly other examples I can find images of. It has part of the grass on the ground cut through to give an added effect not seen on other versions and the depth of the scales is pronounced.

    Thanks Paul.

Besides being IMO a lovely crafted badge it is also fairly rare, I know of only three others in collections.

What a fine looking dragon. Extremely good detail on that badge. As you say probably converted to a broach perhaps for a wife or sweetheart.
