    Hi All,

I recently came across this AFA Crest in a lot of misc military items that included photographs of Eisenhower, Churchill, captured German soldiers, and several other WWII era figures.

Is there any way to tell for certain whether this particular item is a WWII era? It is custom, that's obvious by the sticker on the reverse, but there is no date that I can see.

    Thoughts?

The star is the pre 1943 type if that helps, later ones lost the red disc.

Thanks Ned! That helps a lot. I've never seen one like this. It is custom made of gold bullion according to the label on the back, which (to me) implies the owner was fairly wealthy.

Where would this have been worn? On a visor cap?

The clutches are also the early style, pre-1944.

Where would this have been worn, on a visor? Any idea of value?
