Default Kings Own Scottish Borders Officers Group

Hi Guys, another new addition to mine and Lez's collection.

Sadly the Officer to whom we believe all these items belonged to is anonymous.

The cigarette box is fantastic quality with the carved wooden badge done in high relief and applied separately.

The Officers quality Glenngary is tiny and looks unworn. The Officers quality KOSB cap badge is not silver, but is most likely silver plated as the finish is very good. The badge has not been applied to to the cap, which has never had a badge on it. On close inspection of portrait photo it is certainly not the same cap.

There are no less than 4 pairs of tartan flashes for the BD.

The tie pin has the lion and KOSB applied at a jaunty angle.

The photos were all taken in 1933 during annual camp, which makes us think he was a Territorial Officer. The building is Peebles Hydro.

    Cheers, Ade.

A lovely set Ade , i imagine that the cap was a spare one he kept just in case ! The cigarette case is a real head turner with quality craftmanship in that crest .
    REGARDS AL

We are the Pilgrims , master, we shall go
Always a little further : it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow
Across that angry or that glimmering sea...

Thanks Al. Took ages to get all the muck and dust out of the carving, but it has cleaned up nicely.

The whole group came from the stock of a retired antique dealer who was clearing out the last of his old stock.

    Cheers, Ade.
