The 17th Lancer's skull & crossbones orignates from the death of Wolfe, the CO wanted to commemorate it although I think the 17th were'nt at Quebec?
A few other British regiments commemorated Wolfe's death including the 17th Foot (later the Royal Leicesters), who added a black worm to their white lace - not as dramatic as a skull & cross bones on your head.

Tut Tut no one read the Regimental history then , it was formed by Col John Hale of the 47th regiment of foot, who was a close friend of Wolfe, who returned to the UK with dispatches telling of the victory at Quebec, for this he recieved £500, ten thousand acres of land in Canada and a commision to raise one of the new five regiments of Light Dragoons

I organised the Dutch CAT reunion in 2001. There was a reunion (Weert) and exhibition (Amersfoort). I got all Dutch patches, and already have most of the other participants. I am now working on a website with all my CAT patches. Your patch is one of the missing UK patches. You have two. May-be you want to sell or trade? Or otherwise you could bring me in contact with others who can help. The wensite I am working on is Canadian Army Trophy . I hope to hear from you ! Greetings, Rob Kuenen

Hello Ian, Can you contact me. I would like to have some additional information on the patch, and if possible 1977 CAT pictures. I couldn't add a CAT picture unfortunally. Greetings Rob Kuenen (robkuenen at hotmail.com)
