    Default Mystery Small USA Flag

I have this flag, I'm thinking there is a possibility that it could be an Airborne? D-Day? It's difficult to be sure as it's still sewn to uniform material, so I'm looking for some advice as to what it is, and how I would go about identifying it? I have really no idea with this one. If this is the wrong forum, sorry!
The pictures should enlarge very well.

Looks like it could be one of the invasion flags that were sown on the jump jacket the material looks like it would match it

Now that would be something, Goodness knows why I bought this, it's way out of any area I know, (or think I know.)
I'm really going to have to get a grip on these impulse buying er.........impulses.

I like it - whether original or replica. The swatch of material
might also be from a U.S. M41 combat jacket.........

I've spent some time trying to find an image on the intertubes, not much luck. So, it would be reasonable to drop this on the shelf with my ETO M1's?
    Again, excuse the ignorance.

Most of the fabric used for the flags during D-day look like the fabric used for bandages.

As cricketchris1944 said the invasion flags were made of a bandage/paper like material here is a original invasion armband.

I've seen a couple that were made using cloth handmade with a white arm band and a flag quite similar to this on it
