    If it has a solid back it is a fake. Real ones are hollow backed. Being marked sterling makes me very wary. Juarez wings that I have handled are coin silver.

    Here are two I own.

    Unfortunately, the roller is missing on the pilot. There is a distinct difference
    in the shoulder areas between the two. Both have brass or bronze pins.
    They appear die-struck, and are the same size...........

    Only if you will be happy with it............!

    These things can and do get expensive, but for $40 it might be worth the risk.

    I think I paid at least that, or a bit more for the one you see there, but I myself
    am not 100% convinced mine is good !

    I like your wings and believe they are real. I may be wrong about the silver mark. One thing I know for sure is that all current replicas are solid backed.

    Thanks, Steve.

    According to information in the very few books available on wings
    that I have, these types are marked in two ways;
    'Coin Silver' and 'Sterling'.

    I would pay $40 for this first one that Nick has shown, only because
    my interest is focused mainly on U.S. wings.......

    In my experience, there are not that many people who
    concentrate solely on WWII U.S. wings, so we may
    not see more than the two shown above.....!
