    It is an original 48 star flag. But they were used until 1959 when Alaska became the 49th state of the USA.

    So there is no way of telling its exact period.

    No way to tell an exact time frame, but the material on this one Does seem quite fragile and old, so it may well be war-era. A shame about the damage.

    its possible its WW2 are the eyelets made of brass if not it may be WW2 era as Ive been told at this time the brass would have been needed for manufacturing ammo shells i have a couple of 48 star flags with none brass eyelets but as with it is only a possibility not fact.

    This flag looks like a casket flag, due to the folds and the material, it would have covered the casket of a soldier then folded and given to the next of kin. They still use the same material today, only 50 stars.
