Just thought I'd post a few badges that I often see on eBay as WW2. They are all examples only introduced after the war.

    Left to right:
    - 1951-1957 Home Guard,

    - 1949-1968 Auxiliary Fire Service (1938-1941 AFS had no crown, 1941-1945 NFS did have crown. Strangely I've never seen a Queens Crown example of an AFS badge) Although this is a lapel badge, the cap badges follow suit.

    - 1949-1968 National Hospital Service Reserve (formed and disbanded at same times as the Civil Defence Corps).

    - 1946-1949 Womens Voluntary Service (With the disbanding of the Civil Defence the WVS had to have new badges without the phrase "Civil Defence" removed. After the formation of the new Civil Defence Corps it was re-instated.

Interesting info on a subject about which I know very little, though I have been tempted by such badges in the past. In the future, I now have somewhere to look for info on these.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.
