What you have is a sweetheart badge, The hat badge has had the lugs removed the safety pin added and has been been chromed. He probably made It for his mum, wife or girlfriend

Either that or it was already a chromed badge turned into a sweetheart... Still a great badge though

I had best explain what I am posting today are "unknowns" or items I am not comfortable in displaying at the club as I am not sure of them. Also Items I have as "spares" as I call them. Doubled up in my collection.

The safety pin attached to the "Rising Sun" has been soldered on with a high silver content low melting point silver solder. Could be a sweetheart as the cut off lug "stumps" appear to have been plated after it was removed.

Yeah mate It was really common for the diggers to do this, especially with a collar badge and a shoulder title they would solder the two together and chrome it... If i had my bloody camera I would post some examples... I will give it a go on my phone If the photo's don't suck i will post some pictures up

This post late '42 unissued 2/13th T patch I am not sure of re originality. It doesn't glow under the UV light but I still wonder.
