Green and yellow were the 9th LH AIF (WW1) colour patch colours.

Hello Dave, sorry to hear of your technical difficulties at the moment. When everything is working life is great, when not, very frustrating. Thanks to everyone for the thumbs up and comments. Am now listening to Kokoda by Ham on CD while commuting back and forth from work and it motivated me to dig out these New Guinea items. Hang in there Mate.

Here is a patch that is likely not to be considered WW2, but WW1? In the hopes of keeping it active in this thread here goes. The A is made from what looks to be thin leather. Has anyone seen others similar to this?

Jack-'A' on the flash in a WW1 context means the individual soldier served at Gallipoli in 1915-an 'original ANZAC'-usually the 'A' was in brass but I suppose other materials could do. I don't know if you have a wider interest in Aust military history but this has a very special significance.
