A great effort Kenworth. Thanks a heap mate.
Some very nice insignia and well presented.
I started this thread as a reference to WW2 era Australian Insignia and your contribution is greatly appreciated mate.

    Thanks again for your effort

    Cheers

    Hello everyone,

I just picked up my first Australian badges. I feel a little ashamed that I haven't got any before now. As far as I'm aware they are all WW2. A hat badge marked STOKES & SONS MELBOURNE with a repair to one of the lugs, a collar dog marked H.ARENDSEN MELB. and an unmarked Australia title. Does anyone have any info on H.ARENDSEN? I cant find anything online.

Got to love these badges ~

I promised my brother a Rising Sun when I hit number ten ~ I am up to 9 !!!!

Seems the Metal detecting Gods have refused to allow me the tenth !!

I was hoping to send him a Hat badge ~ a lapel badge ~ a shoulder 'Australia" ( which I am up to 8 on those! ) and a tunic AMF button for his birthday ~ in February ~

( all not to shabby since I have only been fossicking WWII Australian sites since December 24 2013 ~ )

But I have a week off and I am planning on hiring a tinnie to access several difficult sites by water ~ including one which the battalion was embedded for THREE YEARS ~ before they saw action !!

No worries Rene, I've only got an iPhone 5 as a camera and the damn thing keeps focusing on the lugs. I'll try again tomorrow in the light.

After several attempts these are the best shots I could manage.
