Hey guys, i recently received a few bits all relating to a P.O. coder who served on HMS Newcastle.
The following signal flag was in amongst it.
My knowledge of naval signal flags is basic to say the least! but according to the 1937 signal card this is for "aircraft carrier"?
I know that the Newcastle carried a couple of Supermarine Walrus, but would that warrant the Newcastle (a destroyer) flying an aircraft carrier signal flag? or does the flag literally mean "carrying aircraft"?
Or am i barking up the wrong tree completely!?
