    Default Royal Artillery sweetheart badge

Hi Guys, this badge from my collection was bought many years ago for 50p.

A whole range of sweetheart badges were available with this same design with mother of pearl backing. They were sold to soldiers to give to sweethearts, wives, Mothers, etc. The insignia shows the RA cap badge.

    Cheers, Ade.

Nice badge Ade! I love mother of pearl, its my favorite handle material for a knife and it looks good on the badge too!
Do you have any other examples of natural materials being used on military badges?

    Thanks for the comments.

I cannot think of any other items in my collection based on natural materials? My wife has a couple of mother of pearl backed ATS sweetheart badges in her collection.

    Cheers, Ade.
