Thought I'd share some patch finds from the past few months.

First is a group of Vietnam era US Navy patches. All attributed to a career Navy vet.

The Atkron 82 (VA-82) and USS Manley patches are both Japanese made.

The next group of patches, I picked up from a local fella. They were collected by his father, who served in the Army post-Korea, but prior to Vietnam.

A nice mixture of WWII through modern insignia. Most are Army, with the exception of the larger Navy sub patches.

Lastly, a ready made patch display. Majority of the Infantry Divisions represented; all WWII era or earlier. My guess is the display was put together during the war, or immediate post-war.

    Erick,

Very nice patches. The display board is nicely done, reminds me of what would have been found in a tailor shop on display behind the counter. The tailor shop at Fort Campbell, KY had something very similar when I was there in the 80's

Thanks, Smitty. I had also considered that, but have no way to confirm.

There are 3 other boards that were picked up by a buddy of mine, from the same seller. So definitely ads to the plausibility of this being a tailor display.

Nice group of US patches , I'd consider remounting the framed ones as staples through the middle of the patch isn't prettiest mount , also if ever exposed to excessive moisture they could rust and bleed into the patch . Just my thoughts on it .

Thanks, Chris! I intend at remounting them when I have the time.

For now, there are no signs of rusting in the staples, so no immidiate rush. Shocking considering they have likely been mounted this way for 60+ years.

I'd be very gentle and start on the more common patches first .

I find the flathead screwdriver on a Swiss Army knife is a prefect size and is machined smooth on the edges .

Best of luck in all your collecting .

    Hi Mason

    Nice excellent horde..

Always like seeing Ace Novelty patches from the 50's early mid 60's period.

The First Sgt is WAC 1948-51 Taupe colour Goldenlite series.

Woolie 8th ,9th and 45th ones are circa pre war 1940-41

    Collector club/Patch King 12th , 18th and 84th

Also note the 9th ID and 12th AG incorrectly displayed signs of a true wartime display -I like it leave as is!!
