Looks like a sweetheart item to me. Rich A. in Pa.
1969 Shelby GT-500 King of the Road
Knowledge is power, guard it well.
The central/metal part looks very like a General Staff Corps collar dog.
Mounted on a plexiglas "wing" to make a sweetheart pin?
Never seen anything like it before.
Cheers,
Pat
Just checked a pair of General Staff Corps collar dogs to see if I could find a maker.
No.
Just marked "STERLING".

I have seen similar stuff made like this before. I have been told that it is POW artwork. The perspex was supposedly from downed aircraft canopies and the metal was scavanged from anything available, like buttons of other insignia.
Tom
Below two similar POW items I used to have.
That gives me some idea, my grandfather was in new guinea and has another item made of aluminium from a japanese zero.
so its probable the perspex is from an aircraft
thanks for your replies
