Hi Andy, welcome to the forum!

I think the badge may well be Czech Airforce. But I cannot tell you exactly what it represents.

Could we see the back too please.

    Cheers, Ade.

Sure thing, i'll photograph it tomorrow in natural daylight but it has the number 1586 engraved in it nothing else - no details of manufacturer etc.

Hi Andy, that would be great.

It is certainly Czech. Please see this site for similar badges:

I believe this to be a Czech Airforce Ground Specialist badge 1st Class – Pozemni specialllista 1.tr. First produced in 1968, therefore not of WW2 vintage.

Illustration appears on page 75 of Military Pilot & Aircrew Badges of the World – Volume 1 by Don Chalif.

    Kind regards, Malcolm.

Gents, thanks so much for the invaluable info - i'm attaching two clearer pics of the medal (front & back).

Just to add a curve ball, i've had an email from a guy at the RAF Museum this morning who is showing a keen interest in the medal as he believes it was given to Czech Bombers / Flight Engineers during WW2. He's requested that it gets valued and if i'm interested they'd purchase it and put in on display in Hendon (which I think would be a fitting tribute). Any ideas as to value?

Hi Andy, sorry I have not got a clue as to value. I could only guess which would not be fair.

    Cheers, Ade.
