Article about: i picked the airforce wings over the weekend and would like to know more about the wings . on the back its stamped 1/20 sil.filled S 21 . is silver filled as the same as sterling wings ? any

    i picked the airforce wings over the weekend and would like to know more about the wings . on the back its stamped 1/20 sil.filled S 21 . is silver filled as the same as sterling wings ? any other info would be help full

    US Air Force Master Air Crew Member wing. Post WW2. These are much lower grade metal than Sterling silver.

    These are as Ade says - 1/20th silver plated over base metal,
    usually bronze. The above wings are most likely from
    the 1980's, 'S 21' being the maker code.......
