US Ground Forces have cotton or wool flags?

Of the national flags the U.S. Army might have carried in the field or HQ were they made of cotton or wool like the naval ensigns?

American forces were not issued flags to carry in the field.
I am pretty sure that the vast majority of flags from the WWII period were made of cotton.

I knew the US Navy was still issuing wool bunting flags during and even after the War but I was getting conflicting evidence concerning the US Army. I am referring to HQ flags, Command Posts, etc.

I really do not think it was common practice to fly flags in forward area combat zones. As far as rear area headquarters I imagine cotton would have been preferred. As far as the navy would be concerned you don't have to worry about moths at sea.
