    The little enamel pin was worn on the lapel and represents the good conduct medal. the yellow bars were worn on the sleeve and signify how long a soldier served overseas.

    The yellow bars are each for six month OS service and looks to me officers quality and worn on the lower left sleeve of the service jacket

    Indeed as Rene says, these are bullion Officer's stripes, representing
    a year and a half overseas.........
