    Welcome to the forums Salty! Can you give some more information about your father's service? Like where he served or when?

    Salty, it as an Alpha Army Command badge for European Theatre of Operations-Advanced Base. The European Theater of Operations patch shows lightning bolts snapping the chains of Nazi oppression. The ETO's Advanced Base superimposed the Army Service Force patch on the lightning bolts. The photo shows the badge upside down.

    I don't know much. I remember him saying they left Ft. Drum in NY in 1944. He was in Europe until 1946. Probably spent a lot of his time in Germany. He was able to speak German fairly well when he returned. He never spoke about the war to me or anyone that I knew of. I realize thats not much help.
