After getting fed up staring at the computer whilst working on a report, I took an extended lunch and went antiquing and found this single Welsh Guards shoulder strap from the red frock coat, with a nice bullion leek.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Nice one Jerry !!
Nice addition to your growing Welsh collection. Here's a pic of them in wear.
Tom
Isn't that just typical. :-)
Some of the British stuff ain't cheap.

If it had been an older version I might have bought it, but for a modern version, not my cup of tea and as I posted too much money IMHO for what is really only army surplus, though one day it might be worth it, in about 70 years time perhaps.

Just "won" this RWF plastic version from Ebay. I had to pay more than I would have liked as one of the blades is snapped off, but still not too bad a price. It has been stained/painted dark brown which was done either to make it less shiny, to darken it or to make it look more like the OSD version, though I will never know which for certain.
These are the sellers pics and I'll post my own when it arrives.
I just need the Welch Regiment Plastic to complete the set of WWI & WWII period issue versions for the Welch and the Royal Welch.

Congrats on the new find. You really put this collection together quickly.
You going to try and clean off the paint?
Tom
Thanks Tom and yes I have managed to get these together in a relatively short time, though I have had to spend a lot of hours searching for all the variations.
As to the paint, I will leave it as it is, as that is part of its history and I assume it was period done. I will keep my eyes open for an as issued version to add when the chance arises. I have also seen two different versions of this badge, with E-W blades like this one and also a version with N-S blades, so an untouched example with N-S blades would be good to add at some stage.

Good idea, now tell me what fittings the other has? (N-S)
